how does Charge 3 calculate steps for biking?

I rode 10 miles and my Charge 3 indicated I had traveled 3900 steps, but the fitness app on my LG phone calculated 6600 steps.  Has anyone else had problems with calculating steps during biking?

Biking is not step based. It will never be accurate. It picks up your arm movements.You might get more if you wore on your ankle. But again do not except accuracy

distance biked like there is a number of steps per day?
