iOS fitbit app not displaying BPM just for exercise period

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I wear my Charge 3 only when I exercise to monitor my heart rate for interval training. Previously, when I was done, I would sync it with my iPhone and could view the saw-tooth pattern including the value of the highest rate. After what looks to be an "upgrade" for the app, it now displays only my BPM for the 24-hour period, so there's a single peak during my run, but no detail. Is there a way to fix this.  Thanks for any help.

Same thing happened on my charge 2!  Not happy with the loss of that data.

I found a workaround for this. Although I haven't found a setting yet on the iPhone app that will adjust to display just the exercise period, the Fitbit dashboard on the web shows the heart rate displays it.

@hmsrolst @Spe23 , Nice to see you around, thank you for taking the time to shared your experiences.

The issue with the missing heart rate in the Fitbit app has been addressed. And on the Fitbit App v. 4.04 this should be solved.
Please keep an eye open for any app updates.

Thanks for responding JuanFitbit. Unfortunately, the version of the Fitbit app I'm using is v. 4.04. When I look at the day of exercise, I get steps, distance, etc., but when I go to Heart, the full 24-day is displayed, not just the exercise period with a single peak during the time of exercise. I can't find a setting to change it. Is there one? Since the problem happened right after the app was updated, might have 4.04 caused it?

Yes, this happened to me too after the 4.04 update. In the past when I clicked on an exercise session I would get a graph of my HR’s during that exercise session.  That graph is what has now disappeared since the upgrade on the app. Could you look into that @JuanFitbit ?

@hmsrolst @Spe23 , Thank you for your confirmation.
I've informed our team about that and they'll continue investigating and monitoring the issue.
I'll post here as soon as I get more info to keep you all updated.

Are there any updates on this issue? This is a critical feature that has been removed. It greatly diminishes the value I receive from my Fitbit.

I agree with you @SeaAZCat .  I’m starting to think they took it off with the last upgrade intentionally to try to get us to buy premium.  Otherwise if it was a glitch I think @JuanFitbit would have been able to get an answer to help us.  Just speculating though.

I too am disappointed with this. I’ve not worked out in a while due to injury, just done a training session and found you can no longer view the peak like it used to, absolute pants the new version of the app is, the old one was way better pre google.

Same here, I can’t see the heart rate graph on a specific exercise session, which was a critical feature for me. Any update on when this will be reverted to how it used to be in the previous app versions?

Best Answer

This info has also gone missing from my app (Charge 2 owner).

Looking to upgrade watch so wondering - is this the case for all fitbits or just the older ones?

Since the app has been upgraded with no change and JuanFibit hasn't responded, this does seem like a purposeful downgrade. Although it's less convenient, the website is actually much more informative than the old mobile version. It allows you to get the numerical value of your BPM at any point of your exercise, whereas the old mobile app only showed the pattern visually and the numerical value of the highest peak.

Hi everyone. Thank you for your messages and feedback.

The app update that solves this, is being rolled out.
Please keep an eye open for the opportunity to update it.

It would be more productive for everyone in this thread to avoid speculations.

We will be updating the thread should we receive further information.

Sorry to be one of the speculators but silence promotes it.

@JuanFitbit any updates on when this will be rolled out? Will it be in the 4.07 release?

Hi JuanFitbit, any update on the post above.... this change was a major downgrade to fitbit and I'm very disappointed in the change. As other users have mentioned the interface with the app. is poorer also since the fitbit->google change.

I just figured out that I DO see heart rate data for activities - that I manually start/stop (vs autodetect).    I played tennis yesterday and manually started the tracker.  HR / BPM data showed up as well as additional distance data that isn't captured via the autodetect mode.

Not sure if this is expected.  I was confused, thinking that it was sporadically showing up until I realized the correlation.    Hopefully the "fix" already contemplates this detail

Thanks, SeaAZCat. I looked in settings to switch to manual, bud didn't find anything. Please describe how you switched from autodetect to maual.
