new Charge 2 stuck on startup screen

Unpacked my Charge 2 and I get a screen with the Fitbit logo and "www.fitbit.com/setup". I already have a Charge, so I'm all set up. How do I get the Charge 2 past this boot screen?

Thought I would  give an update. I charged the tracker all night. Then I deleted the app from my tablet, installed the app to my phone. I had to create another fitbit account using another email address.  Went through the setup process on the phone app and everything is working fine now!

hi

my charge 2 stopped syncing back in june so contacted customer services and very helpful but to no avail  but as charge 2 still under warrenty they sent me a new tracker !!! happy days I hear you say but no now the new tracker is stuck on set up screen not even vibrating its been on charge for 3 days and still no battery symbol !!! and deleted my old device from account and tried installing new tracker but cannot get passed power on just saying searching !!!

 ive got it to  find tracker and put pairing no.in but then just saying connecting and then nothing goes back to start up symbol again contacted customer services again but heard nothing that was 3 days ago ???? feeling a tad frustrating now !!!! hope some one can help ..........

Hi, 

 

Faced the same problem for the second time now. Apparently, this happens when the battery level of charge 2 goes to 0% and stays that way for a long time. Just tried this solution and it worked for me. 

Steps:

 

  1. Delete the charge 2, which was initially connected in the Fitbit app in your android device. 
  2. Uninstall the Fitbit app.
  3. Restart your android device. 
  4. Install the newest version of the Fitbit app from the play store. 
  5. Restart your phone. 
  6. Turn on location, turn on bluetooth. Make your android device visible.
  7. Forget charge 2 device from your paired bluetooth connections. 
  8. Pair the charge 2 once again newly. 
  9. Connect the charge 2 to the charging port and hold the side button for about 5 seconds so that your charge 2 device is restarted. 
  10. Now, after the charge 2 is restarted, after connecting charge 2 to your android device via bluetooth, go to the newly installed Fitbit app in your phone. 
  11. Go to the Fitbit app, Start with setup of new device and choose charge 2 when it is found while scanning for nearby devices.
  12. Charge 2 displays a 4-digit PIN. Enter this PIN in the Fitbit app in your android device. This connects the charge 2 to your phone. Setup of the Fitbit is complete. 
  13. You might have to again setup your notifications, goals, wrist placement and other settings in your Fitbit app once the setup is done. 
  14. Charge the Fitbit to 100% before use and make sure it does not go to 0% and stays that way for long. Even if it does, you know what to do now:)

@Bikelover  could you be a little more specific on the issue you are having?

What are  you doing to deep your tracker?

What phone do you have?

At what step above does the failure occur?

Is this a new device?

Did toy read thre setup instructions?

@sherb99 your other post says that you have a black screen,  now your saying the screen shows the setup message?

I was referring it freezing in general.
Yes it is a black screen.

The Fitbit app freezing or the Charge 2 freezing.  This thread is about problems during the setup process of the Charge 2

Then delete it on this thread. I got no response on the other one. So I was grasping at straws. Would like to get it working.
