"Log in to Spotify from the Fitbit mobile app" on Charge 4

My Charge 4 is now stuck on a note "Log in to Spotify from the Fitbit mobile app."  I cannot get to Spotify from the Fitbit app, and cannot get out of the notification.  How do I fix the problem?

Plug in. Hold reset button for 8 seconds. Release. You should get a smiley face to confirm the reset. Then unplug, you should be all set

It's a small narrow strip on the left side. I didn't get anything else. Just the smiley face, that means it reset.

Welcome to the Forums, @PGM70 and @Adeluz@KatS17, thanks for the input.

When you see the "Log in to Spotify from the Fitbit mobile app" message on Charge 4, that means that you need to log in to your Spotify account. If you are not interested in using the Spotify feature, you can delete it by opening the Fitbit app, tap the profile picture > Charge 4 > Spotify. Tap Remove and wait until the app has been uninstalled.

Have a good day!

Let me add to this for people like me aka "Fitbit for Dummies":  1) First you will need to tap your profile picture.  2) Now you should be on a screen with
"Account" at the top.  3) Select Charge 4 4) Now you will see a screen which includes "Apps" and "Spotify"  5) Choose Spotify.  6) On the Spotify screen select "Remove".  Believe it or not Alejandra, I've been working at getting this done for awhile and there are others who don't intuitively know how to find the Menu page.  This whole process makes it appear that Spotify and Fitbit have teamed up to try and influence (could be seen as trick)  Fitbit owners to purchase the premium Spotify app.  Frankly, wasting my time and evidently the time of thousands of other Fitbit users makes me want to throw the Fitbit out the window!

YOu had me until 5).  Best instructions so far but I wanted to use my fitbit to control Spotify - not Remove

The next comment by Susieqew did not encourage me either

This is a bullahit terrible consumer experience. This stupid Spotify thing has been on my wrist all day.  Just added to stress.  Whoever the product manager is should apologize.

It's worth noting:

If you don't have / don't want a Premium subscription, you can't use Spotify on a free account.

If you are on a free account

  • Load Fitbit App on your device
  • Tap your picture (in the top left corner)
  • [Account] page, tap Charge 4
  • [Charge 4] page

If you tap that Spotify button, there is an [Uninstall] option

If you're on a free account, you want to uninstall so it stops prompting you to sign-in so Fitbit can connect to it.

It really should only prompt to log in, after the user starts up Spotify on the tracker. Yes I agree with @erebus in that removing Spotify would be the best option .

You still can control the Spotify app running on the phone through the generic music controls found on the Charge 4

spotify is a virus that took control of my Charge 4  I do not have a spotify acct, so my charge 4 is useless

You don't need to have. Spotify Account to disable it. Log into the Fitbit App on your mobile device (phone etc) and go into Charge 4 in your account settings.

If you tap on the Spotify logo there, you should have the option to completely stop your Fitbit from trying to link up with Spotify.

I hope that helps?
