How about word on when the newer devices will be supported, otherwise. I just purchased a Charge 2 only to find out it is currently useless with my phone. I'm fortunate enough to use Android tablets, and the Android app DOES include the Charge 2. I'm hoping to be able to sync my phone so I can use the Connected GPS, etc.
The years' long back and forth about notifications is mind boggling, but it will be the lack of Connected GPS that really stresses me out.

Microsoft says that the GATT BT service will be added to all Win10 devices in early 2017 at that time fitbit will be able to add this.
The problem has always been on Microsoft's side

Just out of curiosity, did you simply use bluetooth to sync? Or did the app you loaded show the Charge 2? I have the app loaded, but the Charge 2 isn't an option. I thought about trying with the Charge, which does show, but figured that would be pointless.
I then thought about simply pairing through my bluetooth settings, but wasn't sure if that would gain me anything.
My employer uses a site that can be linked with Fitbit, and having it on my phone would be more convenient than my tablet. If the app can work, great. If not, I'll wait. I imagine they'll update it soon enough.

Well, thanks for the input. I guess, at that point, it becomes a question of how your app works differently than mine. The Charge 2 isn't an option, so there is nothing to follow. I can't link a device that isn't shown.

The app definitely works.
I got my Charge 2 today (3 Nov '16) and it synced with the app first time.
Just perhaps check that you are running the latest Fitbit app on your phone?

Two points, Dericslab.
First, is your phone running Windows 10? WP8.1 doesn't support the Charge 2.
Second, a working app only gets communication, not text and calendar notifications.

@Dericslab do you have a Windows 10 phone, like @ironpol has. It is not yhat he cant sync, the app doesnt give him the option to setup.
My thoughts would be to set it up through a different device, such as a oc or even a friends phone. When setup it will work with the windows phone app, since it will be already setup, on the win phone just lig in and sync.
The other thing to do would be to contact.fitbit.com and ask why the Charge2 is not an option.

Hi Rich_Laue
I have the Lumia 950, and not the 950XL.
BUT, both phones run Windows 10 Mobile, and the Fitbit App should also be the same version.
I have attached screenshots of the setup and Fitbit version I am running:

Hey Ironpol
I am not sure of the compatability between Windows phone Phone 8.1 and the Charge 2.
However, we are a Microsoft Partner and play with many different devices.
I have an old Lumia 930 testing device here somewhere, I will load the Fitbit
app on it and see if it detects the Charge 2. (Will try over the weekend)

I just read this article, sounds promising for notifications on Windows Phone 10 with the Fitbits.

Thanks for that info Jos!
I somehow missed this on Windowscentral.com, glad you caught it!
I make use of test builds on a Lumia 950, and will look out for this addition on new builds!
🙂

Exactly why i gave up on my windows phone last year. The number of supported apps keep dropping every day, they "Microsoft" claims updates but usually years after they suggest when it is supposed to be available. Even the android apps made by microsoft are much better than the microsoft apps.

Hi Jos
I am running build 14965 on my Lumia 950, but we will need to wait for Fitbit to add it
to their App, if this build can indeed interface with the new API changes as per Fitbit's requirements.
