I think the benchmark feature is only available from the app. Do you have
access to the app?

Hey @couldbe, hope you're doing some healthy activities! Heart

I noticed in your Community profile that you own a Charge 2, so I moved your post from Charge HR to Charge 2 to keep the forums organized. To check the Benchmark for the Sleep Stages, in the Fitbit app go to the sleep tile, there select the day you want to see and you'll have the option to check today's information, a comparison on the past 30 days and also the benchmark.

Hope this helps and let me know if you have questions.

Hello @couldbe and @bmarsh, it's nice to see you in this thread. Cat Wink

I'd like to clarify that the Sleep Benchmarks are only available for the Fitbit application for mobile devices, my suggestion is voting and commenting this awesome idea posted by another Fitbitter to implement this awesome feature in the online Dashboard.

Have you checked our Discussions board? There you can share your story, find some fitness tips, recipes and more, give it a look!

Hi. As a new person, i'm poking around trying to find functionality.  Looks like the benchmark data is only available on the app?  when i look at the sleep tile on the fitbit site, there doesn't seem to be a benchmark option?

hmm. i do have access to the app, but i use my desktop. my eyesight isn't so great, so i'd rather be comfortable on my desktop. but going to the app would be worth it to see the benchmark stats. thanks, jean adkins

Hello, It seems I have the same problem, but the solution doesn't work for me. I recently got a Charge2. In looking for the Benchmark data, I updated the Fitbit App. But it has not helped. Where the diagram shows the benchmark, I have an option for "one day, one month, one year of data". Maybe I have the wrong Fitbit?

Welcome on board @MaincoThe benchmark is based on published data and shows how your sleep stage estimates from the previous night compare to the averages of others who are the same age range and gender (source). In the graph, the typical range for each sleep stage is shown as the shaded area between the two horizontal lines. Keep in mind sleep cycles vary naturally, and you’ll likely see your sleep data fall outside the typical ranges at times. Another way to analyze your sleep stages is to compare your data from last night to your own 30 day average (under the 30 Day Avg tab), as your sleep patterns may vary over time.

Follow the steps below to see your sleep stages data in the Fitbit app. If you’re using fitbit.com instead of an app, click the sleep tile on your dashboard.

  1. In the morning, open the Fitbit app and wait a few moments for your device to send your sleep details to your dashboard.
  2. From the dashboard, tap the sleep tile. (If it says "Analyzing your sleep", your device's data hasn't synced with your dashboard.)
  3. Tap Today (on Windows 10, tap Last Night).
  4. Tap the expand icon in the top right to open information about your sleep stages and then swipe to view your stats. Tap the icon again to close.
  5. Scroll down to view your time spent in each stage and then tap 30 Day Avg and Benchmark to view additional stats.

You should be able to find Benchmark in the daily sleep record as shown in these screenshots:

I just got the Alta HR, and like many users in 2017, I find no extra info on sleep stages (i.e. the REM etc. stages) on my app. Nor do I find any benchmark info. I have the latest firmware version - 26.63.2 - and am using the newest version of the app on my iPhone. I just rebooted the tracker as per instructions in another fitbit forum and deleted and reinstalled the app.

As others have said, this is pretty disappointing because it's the reason I changed from the Flex 2 to the Alta HR.

Am new to this forum and just sent a new message. Sorry that this is a duplicate Smiley Sad. Briefly: I have followed all these steps w/ my new Alta HR and neither the Benchmark nor the Sleep Stage info exists. I'd love some help...

  • Thanks. This helped. I have the Charge2. I also found out that the Benchmark is ONLY on the Fitbit app. The website does not provide benchmarks.

The information is available in the APP, though not on the computer
interface.

Thanks, bmarsh! I was *only* looking in the app - not on the desktop. This morning, for the first time, however, the stats were there. Interesting insights and just what I wanted. I hope this will be the situation from here on out!

Are you not getting any information on the sleep section of your Fitbit app (like the ones I posted previously)? Would you mind sending me screen shots showing what you're getting so I can go from there? Woman Very Happy

I'm glad this helped you @MaincoSmiley Wink As my friend @bmarsh shared here, the Benchmarks are only available on the Fitbit app.
