Active Minutes disappearing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

This morning I waked 2.85 miles in 39 minutes. The steps are showing as are calories, but the 39 active minutes dropped down to 13 about 15 minutes after my  walk, and the walk did not register as exercise. What gives?

I had a similar problem this AM. Walk not recorded, then active minutes returning to zero from 50 or so. I don’t know how to fix or get a response that would be helpful.

Hi. I have the same problem from today.

Active minutes show 0.

Is there any bug being fixed or...?

I hope someone “in charge” is fixing this problem, but I don’t know. My
minutes appeared today, but I will watch to see if they disappear again!

Hi again :).

I contacted the fitbit support, and they gave me the restart solution:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Hold the other end of the charging cable near the port on the back of the tracker until it attaches magnetically. The pins on the charging cable must connect securely with the port.
  3. Press and hold the button on your tracker for 5 seconds.
  4. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.

Then the active minutes will be working again

I'll try this as soon as i go home and keep you updated 🙂

The other day, I kept accruing active minutes although I was sitting down,
drinking coffee.

These issues are a sad reminder as to why I quit using Fitbit several
years ago.

Yeah, tried that several times. No improvement. And I did "chat" that
was not helpful

Yes, this seems to be the universal problem-solver. Let’s hope it works.

Hi @AnnMcD @MPier and @JuliP. nice to see you around. Thanks for reporting the issues with your active minutes and for checking with our team this information.

That's odd! If you're doing activities in the same way, basically same intensity and duration, your active minutes shouldn't vary a lot. Check this information in regards of Active Minutes are gain and follow these steps:

  1. Force quit the App and turn off your phone
  2. Open Fitbit App, go to Account (upper right corner) > Delete Fitbit tracker from the Account
  3. Open the Bluetooth Setting on your phone and delete Fitbit Inspire HR from there too
  4. Reboot Bluetooth to make sure your Fitbit is not there
  5. Restart your device  and Access back to Fitbit App > Account to set up your Fitbit tracker back

Also I would recommend checking the information for previous activities during different days, to see exactly what are the activities that are giving you active minutes. And confirm if they are also disappearing from previous days. You can go to the Fibit.com Dashboard on the computer or on the browser in your phone, click on Log > Activities > Choose the date and choose to see calories.

Your Active Minutes will be shown with the calories in high intensity level as green lines, as you can see in the picture. Moderate intensity level are shown in yellow lines.

@AnnMcD About the issues that you're having with your active minutes, I'd like to know if your device is always syncing correctly as it happens to me once. That when it tries to sync it shows the information updated, but if the sync doesn't complete or fails the information reverts to the previous data.

Still having issues..the other day my 37 active minutes turned into 117
active minutes in about 20 minutes when I was not active.

Today I walked 2.85 miles, and 5,000+ steps in about 35 minutes and my
Fitbit is showing 0 active minutes.

I am very frustrated!

I have had the same experience. Active minutes appeared when I was driving! Now, I have noticed that sometimes my steps multiply when I simply wave my arm around. I think just rebooting a lot may help. It is frustrating that support seems surprised when these things are reported. Surely, they must have heard these stories a lot.

Good luck.

Did as directed and Active Minutes are not disappearing,  but I think they are now running high.  This AM showed 15 Active minutes when I got out of bed.

My issue now is thar walks aren't being detected,  though miles and Active Minutes are. My walk Thursday and yesterday did not get recorded.  My 2.5 mile walk did not initially show up, although about 20 minutes later it registered. Active Minute numbers again look too high.

FRUSTRATED!

I find it does take time for
exercise to be recorded by the app—first in the weekly record and then on the summary. Usually have to refresh once or twice. Just can’t take this piece of technology as the final word on what you do, I guess!
