Active Zone Minutes Not Recording since latest update

Hey I’m having a frustrating issue - since I updated my Fitbit Inspire 2 a few days ago, the Active Zone Minutes have stopped recording. I walked over 30,000 steps yesterday on a hike with the dogs and its sitting at ‘0’ - this can’t be right. I have checked my settings and nothing has changed. Please can you help?

Hello @Littlecranberry

I understand you said you have already checked and your settings remained the same. Can you verify that your Inspire 2 is set to On Wrist mode? It’s located in quick settings (press and hold the buttons to access quick settings)

When your Inspire 2 is set to On Clip, certain features are turned off, including heart-rate tracking, automatic exercise tracking, and Active Zone Minutes. In order to monitor sleep heart readiness your Fitbit needs to track your heart rate so if it’s On Clip the heart rate can’t be tracked.

If your still having issues, and your definitely set to On Wrist mode then I’d try restarting your Inspire 2 to see if that helps: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1186.htm

😃I hope this answers your question and fixes the problem your experiencing. Please let me know if it helps

But I wear mine 100% on clip - and it was tracking zone minutes before Monday. Has that been turned off? Why? And if I switch the setting to on wrist, but wear the clip, will it still record steps the same way? This is sooooooo frustrating! I don't wear watches - need a clip - what are my options?

Hello @BHECK

The only change I can find in the “On Clip” and “On Wrist” mode was changed in Version 1.124.16 Firmware update for Inspire 2. The change was described as:

You can view all updates of your Inspire 2 here: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1372.htm

According to the Fitbit Inspire 2 Manual the only change is a notification (described above). For more details refer to page 14 of the Inspire 2 Manual here: https://help.fitbit.com/manuals/manual_inspire_2_en_US.pdf

To understand Active Minutes and Active Zone Minutes look here: https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1379.htm

I hope this provides clarification

Hi everyone, thank you for your replies, I’m really grateful for your suggestions. The weirdest thing happened tho - the next day everything was back to normal and I have had no issues since! So I had 2 days of no Active Minutes logged, then back to normal! Strange, but glad it’s not an issue anymore. Thanks again 🙂
