App is not tracking my sleep data accurately

My Inspire has randomly logged my sleep as completely uninterrupted overnight,  which I know wasn’t due to pain,  my steps have recorded me getting up and walking around twice. It’s so unusual I notice the fault straight away. 10 Hrs vs my usual 5! Anyone else having issues with this?
Update;

still not working correctly, only logged 1.5hrs this morning 27/6 from 6am, added sleep from 11pm but just adds full sleep for this rather than tracked, again I got up more than once and steps were tracked. 😬

update 28/6/25 - logged part sleep on day before and part sleep on this morning. Amended sleep to complete periods I was in bed, it lost the stats for original sleep log and changed to solid sleep between 1.15 to 2.55 even though they were the original part sleep (with stat times awake,  restless & sleep originally). I think I’m done with Fitbit I’ve tried to be patient but it’s getting worse and stats are not reliable anymore.😞

update: 29/6- worked fine as recorded automatically as 1 sleep, the issue is back this morning 30/6 it seems that a change has been made and if it records your sleep in 2,sessions rather than one or if you correct any sessions it records undisturbed sleep rather than the pattern of your sleep. Even when you have recorded steps within the time from sleep disturbance.  Because of this it is now totally unreliable for accurate sleep stats. I am going to try the start sleep function to see how that works out, I’ll let you know.

No it does not show any stats at all just solid sleep similar to this.

I then delete it completely and enter it manually and the stats are shown it’s bizarre.

I agree we shouldn’t have to be deleting and manually adding to get the stats they are part of why we monitor sleep🤯 today’s photos 1 is automatic 2 is after delete and then added manually- manual is accurate. @Fitbit

That’s ridiculous! I’ve seen an uptick in posts about issues with the sleep data on Reddit too, come on Fitbit… 🤦‍:female_sign:

There was another app update yesterday so I was hopeful that would help…. Nope, I definitely want awake from 1:30 to 3 the way my Fitbit seems to think I was 🤦‍:female_sign:

Update 20th to 26th July

This week the Fitbit App has automatically recorded my sleep as solid hours with no stats at all. Again I have deleted the sleep from the App and added it manually and the stats are there, the sleep pattern is more accurate and the hours of sleep are correct.
Sometimes the automatic track on the App only records part of the sleep such as up to 3am. Have photos but that’s getting boring now.

The fault isn’t just intermittent it’s a regular problem, @FitbitSupport need to sort this out. I’ve been logging it on DownDetector every time I get a problem now.

Whole chunks of time at night that I’m allegedly awake for an hour +. Definitely not. It’s almost a joke now to see what the device thinks I slept the night before 🤦‍:female_sign: come on, do better @Fitbit

And so it continues…

1App. 2 manual

I erased my “sleep goal” just out of curiosity the other day so going to see if that makes any difference. Last night might’ve been a bit more accurate, but I’m also away/on vacation. It seems in general though like there’ll be one night that seems ok with regards to data and then they’ll be off again 🧐

This is another good example of what I’m complaining about and evidences why I cannot trust the App stats for sleep… and so it continues @Fitbit

1 Automatic on App, 2 deleted and added manually

That is beyond ridiculous, the worst I’ve seen yet 🤦‍:female_sign: mine is still showing me awake for 1-2 hours during the same period every night. How have they not fixed this bug yet smfh

Best Answer

As you can see part of the issue is the lack of any stats on the App. and just recording solid sleep. But That’s interesting as well, I just assumed I was restless/awake for a 2 hour period rather than a glitch 🧐🤔perhaps that’s why my sleep is always so low?

Looks like there was another app update today, so we’ll have to see if that makes a difference

Nah not mine showed no stats at all, also a long break between cut out completely, until I deleted and manually input

Still happening more or less every other day

auto on app no stats- solid sleep with sections missing

 deleted and re added mannually

That’s ridiculous! And same… like last night seemed on track, but the night before, I definitely wasn’t awake for an hour and 15 minutes!

Definitely wasn’t awake an hour straight 🤦‍:female_sign:🙄

I’ve been away its been off again all week just keep adding it manually but still have hours missing I thought it was me.

Mine has been really off this week! Having it on sleep mode gives me abysmal sleep times, but then deleting and re-adding manually gives me like 3 additional hours 🤦‍:female_sign:🤦‍:female_sign:

Last night I got up about 3 times to use the bathroom over a 9.5 hour stretch (yay weekend). Auto sleep recorded me at 6 hrs 20 min, which I knew was wrong… manually entered had me basically asleep the whole time with only 1 minute wake periods when I used the bathroom (and I’m not THAT fast haha). What is going on?! 🤦‍:female_sign:🤦‍:female_sign:

Today again recorded solid sleep (no stats) of over 10 hours, I think I’d have to have been medicated to get this much sleep, if only 🤣🤣 Not funny though as when added manually it was actually  5 hours 4 minutes. Would still question gap between 3-5am but much more accurate for me. Come on @Fitbitsupport get this sorted. Also had a day when no sleep was recorded the day previous. So fed up.

I keep getting the huge discrepancy too, auto says too little but manual, while closer, still seems off. What the heck is going on with the sensors, what are they measuring? Urgh

---

So last night I didn’t set my Fitbit to sleep mode, just left it… normal. It looks like it auto-detected my sleep and wasn’t super wildly off… so more accurate thus far for me to “leave it be” than to set it to sleep mode or enter the time manually. I’ll see if this keeps up!
