Bluetooth connection issue with Inspire HR and Google Pixel 3

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

My Inspire HR can no longer hold a sustained bluetooth connection with my phone.  For example, if I go for a run I can only maintain a connection for 2-3 seconds at a time, and it might successfully reconnect once or twice during my run but not long enough to make any sort of sensible map. I also no longer receive text alerts.  It does still sync fairly reliably, though.

For a long time I blamed my phone, an iPhone7, but I recently switched to a Pixel 3 and it's still not working, so it's clearly not my phone.

I've tried:

Making sure both my phone and Fitbit are fully charged

Restarting my Fitbit

Restarting my phone

Updating the app

Clearing the bluetooth connection on the phone and reconnecting

Making sure Fitbit is the only app running

Any other suggestions??

Hi @blyne80, welcome to the Community Forums!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and for trying some troubleshooting steps before to posting over here. To better assist you with this and to further investigate, can you please let me know when was the first time you experienced this issue and how many times since then? Do you use another Bluetooth device at the same time you're using your Inspire HR? In the meantime I receive your answers, please try the following steps:

  1. Force quit the Fitbit app.
  2. Uninstall the app from your mobile device.
  3. Make sure that the Android version is up to date.
  4. Reboot your mobile device.
  5. Reinstall the Fitbit app.
  6. Login using your account credentials.

Looking forward to your reply.

Hi Ricardo, Thanks for getting back to me.

This started happening sporadically in February (sometimes it would work fine, sometimes I'd get a wonky map), and in April it had gotten to the point where it never worked.  Since April it's happened about 40 times (every time I run).  I don't use any other bluetooth devices while running.

I'll try your troubleshooting suggestions and report back.  Thanks!

Your reply is appreciated @blyne80.

I'm sorry to know that you're still experiencing some connection difficulties with your Inspire HR and your Google Pixel 3. Please follow the next steps and let me know if the issue persists:

  1. Restart your Fitbit.
  2. Please on the phone, go to Settings > Bluetooth, and remove all the connections that exist with the device. (Forget device, ignore or unpair depending on the version of the operating system of the phone).
  3. Turn off the Bluetooth and restart the phone. (Switch off and on again).
  4. When the mobile device is back on, turn the Bluetooth on again but do not attempt to connect to the Fitbit from here.
  5. Go on the app and try setting up the Fitbit as a new device.

Don't hesitate to ask me any additional questions you may have, I'll be around.
