I just bought this Fitbit for my son straight out of the box brand new but the back won’t attach to the battery charger it came with, the king skinny model (incompatible with Charge 5). 

I do feel a plastic film texture but I don’t know if it’s supposed to be there or not because it doesn’t peel off. Any advice short of returning it?
