I'm only just charging the fitbit out the box yet it tells me I've burned 1700 calories so far today but I've not even worn in yet. Is this normal?

Hello @Manic42 and welcome to the Community. Yes, this is the normal behavior in a brand new device. It doesn't start at all zeros. It includes your BMR calories from the start of the day. If you want to see something really weird, go back to yesterday. It will show your BMR calories and you didn't even own the device. Less than perfect programming on Fitbit's part.

Is the step counter the same? I've not done anything of note this morning yet says I've done 1200 steps which is impossible

Any idea why it takes 10 minutes of running before I enter Cardio zone
Also is it possible to reset the calorie/distance to zero every morning
Thanks
