My calories from my fitbit inspire hr is not syncing correctly to the app. Just purchased the fitbit last week. Everything else (steps, heart rate, etc.) is syncing right but on the app side, its adding almost 500 more calories burned than what it says on my watch. What do I do to fix this?

I have the same problem with my new Inspire HR. At the mornings the difference is about 100-200 calories, while by the end of the day it can be up to 800 calories. It depends on my daily activity. I haven't logged any activity manually, but while setting up my account I have entered my weight less than it is by mistake and fixed it afterward ( it was 7 days ago).

Welcome to the Forums @MeganCarpenter, nice to see you here.
Congrats on your new Fitbit Inspire HR! Thanks for sharing your concerns about the accuracy of the calories that your Fitbit device is tracking. We appreciate the time you've taken to check that rest of information is correct.
We might have to check a little more information on what activities you're performing to get possible reasons on why you're seeing more calories now. You can find some good details about how this feature works in this master post. Also check these help articles about accuracy:
Have you manually logged any other activity?
Have you changed any personal information on our account recently? You can confirm that your personal information is correct.

I called support yesterday and they just had me to reset my fitbit. Connect it to the charger then hold the button for about 5 seconds until the smiley face comes up. It will reset all counts for that day so recheck it the next day. Mine is fine now.

my brand new inspire HR tracker does not record calories correctly. The numbers are very fluctuated. I’m a 30 year old male, 5’8” at 185 pounds which is what I entered when setting up the device. The tracker is saying I’ve burned 700-800 calories by the time I wake up in the morning. By the end of the day yesterday, it said I’ve burned over 3300 calories - the only activity I did was a 15 minute run with my dog and a 30 minute walk after. The numbers are extremely misleading and I’m getting frustrated not finding any answers online. Please help me before I just give up and return the device. It’s not worth the $100 I spent if it’s not recording data correctly.
I tried resetting the device but the numbers are still inaccurate.

This didn’t work for me. I’ve Had it on for about 20 minutes and I have burned over 800 calories! Magical! Anyone have the support phone number handy?

Hi. I’m finding that my steps and KM are logging correctly, however my calories burned seemed very high. I’d apparently burned 535 calories before even getting out of bed this morning. (I don’t wear the FitBit overnight) Can anyone explain why my Fitbit might be registering this incorrectly?
Thanks

I am experiencing the same issue and would like to have an answer. This device is not cheap so I expect it to work accurately and it’s frustrating to see calories burned when I have not used the device at all.

There is an amount of calories your body uses to carry out its basic functions. The fitbit average it based on your height, weight and age, so it provides you with the number even if you don't wear the device. And therefore when you wake up at the morning you already burn some calories. For example, in my case my body burn about 1600 calories per day just by itself, everything else is coming as an extra with daily activity.
