Calories burnt in Workout

My wife is using her Inspire when doing a workout and I am using my Charge 3.

After doing the same workout,

My Charge 3

Ave heart rate 124bpm

Calories 283

Wifes Inspire

Ave heart rate 145bpm

Calories 195

These numbers do not seem correct and I'm not sure what we can do to verify these. Any assistance?

@Murraysch   I apologize if I am misreading your post.  To rephrase your post to the way I am reading it, you and your wife did the same exercise side-by-side.  Heart rate responses to exercise are individual and will be different based on levels of fitness and other factors.  The calorie burns are calculated using sex based algorithms.  Generally, men have more muscle mass than women, even if they have identical weights.  Men just burn more calories.

Or did I misunderstand what you wrote?

Thanks for the response @LZeeW .

I think you have interpreted my post correctly and I understand the heart rate is measuring all of the time.

I would have thought that calories burnt would have been related to your heart rate and was quite surprised when my wife heart rate was so high, but calories burnt was so much lower than mine. As I read your comment, men burn more calories than women. Maybe that is the reason.
