So I just got my fitness watch today after updating it I look at the dashboard and it shows over 1000 calories burned and I haven’t used it yet. I’ve been reading similar forms on her with people having 500 calories added when they wake up but could mine be doubled cause it was mid day ? I’m confused and would really love some help.

Those are probably your BMR (basal metabolic rate) calorie burn, the calories you are always burning just by being alive.  These usually account for more than half of daily calories burned.

And they are credited even when you are not wearing the tracker, so it would include your BMR calories since midnight, even if you didn't have it set up yet then.

For more on this, see:

How does my Fitbit device calculate calories burned?

Thank you. Is there a way I can only have it show my calories for the times I’m active ?

Sorry, but no.  BMR calories are always included, and cannot be turned off.
