Can I abandon my Google account and start new Fitbit account?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I foolishly trusted Fitbit/Google to look after my Family Group (>10 years). Now I am locked out from Family Group, getting no weekly stats.  Because other members have not moved to Google. and have no wish or intention to move to Google.  I was NOT WARNED of this DISASTER.

Can I abandon this horrific Google account, and start Fitbit as a new member. Re-enroll in our Family Group. ? Without my Family Group stats, I lose half my pleasure  and trust in Fitbit.  Google is a BULLY

@scottishagate   I'm sorry, but you can't create a new Fitbit account.

Thanks for the info. I think that's terrible. Google have shafted me. My
Inspire is dying and I won't be staying with Google Fitbit. Another good
product ruined by a takeover, bought only to kill a rival brand.

@scottishagate   It might surprise you that Fitbit bought some other companies just to get proprietary information.  These happened long before Google bought Fitbit.  Fitbit bought the Pebble fitness tracker, just to get the pebble design.  Coach used to be a freestanding platform and Fitbit bought that, too.

Thanks for info but doesn't help with my problem. I am permanently locked
out of my Family Group.

If I give my Fitbit to a friend, could they join Fitbit or be forced to use a Google account?

@scottishagate   All new users must have a Google account.

Thanks for the info. So my Fitbit is almost useless to me now, I'm permanently locked out of our Family Group.

SO what is the point of your answer advising me to consult Fitbit Help. There is no help for this. Thanks and Goodbye

Thanks for clarification.
