Hi @Susan6175  sure you can, if you get an extender piece for it. Of course, it won't track the heart rate or sleep that way, but it will count the steps. The Inspire 2 can be worn with an optional clip, too.

It tracks my heart rate and sleep when on my ankle.  I compared it with another tracker on my wrist and both line up perfectly.

You have to move it to the inside of the ankle though but there is a pulse point there.  I had t(o play around every so often to find it.  With that said these 3rd party bands for the inspire 2 (allergic to the silicone) are a painI u to change as the pins are so tiny so I did get the clip.  I understand you can't read heart rate with that though so I'll have to mess around with that one too.

What position do you wear it on your ankle?  My Sense tracks everything great on my ankle but I can't get the Inspire 2 to get my active minutes on my ankle so I know it's not picking up my heart rate.  TIA!

Do you think the elastic bands work better or worse?  I did buy them but haven't changed out from the Silicone yet because yes they are a pain to change.

I wear it above my ankle using the optional elastic band.  It absolutely counts my heartrate and Zone minutes.  I was wearing it in the same place on the inside of my lower calf but started to get a blister-like sore.  Now, I just vary the location of it.  I do move it to my wrist at night.  My reason for wearing it on my leg was so that I would get credit for steps on my under desk elliptical.  For whatever reason, it takes a lot more steps to get credit for a mile, though.  I used to wear my Fitbit One in my sock and it took around 12K steps to get to 5 miles.  Now, it's closer to 15K.  Not a big deal, since I'm tracking steps and not miles.

Thanks for the info!  Mine is tracking sleep and heart rate but I didnt think it was tracking active zone minutes.   I was on the treadmill this am and it just kept saying I had 4 zone minutes.  I just checked it again and even though fitbit was updating to the app every few minutes and reporting my steps correctly the zone minutes stayed at 4.  It didn't put the zone minutes on until sometime after my workout.

I wear an Apple Watch on my wrist because my kids make me and an Inspire 2 on my ankle to get brownie points from my insurance company. Both petty much agree there are 2500 steps in my mile but the elliptical is all over the place on both.
