Can't categorize exercises in the Fitbit app anymore

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

With the old app interface, I could put my fitbit in Workout mode, then later go back and categorize it.  That option is no longer available.  A generic workout (for me) might be something like cleaning the kennels at the local shelter, but many of my workouts are more specific activities such as rock climbing.  I want to be able to change a workout to a rock climb, or yard work, or digging (as in trailbuilding with BLM), but now I can't change the activity at all except via the fitbit itself.  VERY ANNOYING.  Yes, I can track it on Strava (and do) but because of the type of fitbit I have, Fitbit won't share the heart rate data with Strava.

Agree 100% - wish I could categorize the exercise type after finishing, too!

Yes! This! I used to be able to start the generic “workout,” before jumping onto the rowing machine, then categorize it as “rowing” afterwards. So? This might be coming back? I hope it’s soon.

I stumbled upon how to do this today.  It is ridiculously labor intensive with multiple steps (compared to what we used to do) but it works.Developers should have left the app alone…

click on “Exercise Days”

Upper right click on the 3 Dots

Select “Manage Data”

Scroll to “Exercise (Exercise logs,GPS tracking)” and select it

Select “REVIEW YOUR DATA” and presto!!  the old platform appears !

Best of luck
