Can’t close finished challenges

I’m using an iPhone for my app. 
When someone sends me a challenge it appears on my daily log tab. 
When the challenge is finished it does not close the challenge and it stays on my daily log. 
when I click “edit” I can move the challenges to the bottom of the list but I can’t delete them or exit out of them to remove them from the list. 
please help
