Can't delete a food entry

I can't figure out how to delete a food item on my Android phone app  I can delete on the dashboard on my laptop, but not the app. There are some suggestions online to swipe the item to the left, but that just moves the screen to the "recent" portion of the page There is also a suggestion to tap the food item, which will bring me to a "delete" option This only takes me to the item itself with the choice of adding it to breakfast, lunch, etc I have an Inspire HR.
