@BDWSC - I noticed that, too, when I was using the Inspire 2. Sometimes it helped to cup my hand around the clock face. The good news is that Fitbit listened to the complaints and made it much easier to see the display in sunlight on devices released after that model. I’m thinking specifically of the Luxe and the Charge 5. You may want to check them out.

Hi @BDWSC, in your case, there's good news and bad news:

The bad news is there's not much that can be done to help the dimness on the Inspire 2.  Even if you scroll to your "Settings" and then "Brightness" and select "Dim Screen Off" it's darn near impossible to see in the sunlight.

The good news is, as @SunsetRunner mentioned, there have been several trackers since the Inspire line came out that address that issue, including the Sense, Luxe, and Charge 5.  If you can swing it, I'd consider an upgrade.

Yea so many people have this issue. I know it's not a perfect solution but personally I've switched to the "pixels" clock face which still has some useful stats and I think is the easiest to read in daylight since it uses white (not grey) text (though I still have to cover it with my other hand to shade it). You get used to the weird looking numbers in it...

I've just added a feature suggestion for brighter Inspire 2 screen and previously asked to have the timeless clock face use white text (not grey) to make it easier to read, but Fitbit will probably just keep asking if Dim Screen or Sleep Mode are on for ever and ever and never actually release a software update...

I shouldn't have to spend more money on another one. Some. of us are retired....They shouldn't have been selling it being defective  like it is. I mean, a watch to see your activities and you can't see it outside in real time?

So the "best answer" is to give Fitbit more money? Instead of fixing the product I already have?

Agreed!!!

I’ve been using Fitbit for years and the inspire 2 has been the most frustrating!!!   They sent me a replacement and it has the same issues of not being able to read the time or fitness details when outside even on a cloudy day.
