Can track a workout on phone and watch it on Inspire HR?

I haven’t used the tracking option in the phone app at all since getting my watch, and I wanted to try it out at a fun run a couple of days ago to see the GPS route of the run afterwards. I assumed the workout would also show up on my watch, so that I could check pace and distance etc but that wasn’t the case. Did I do something wrong or is that not a function that exists? It felt kind of odd that I could have one workout in my phone app going while also starting one from my watch at the same time.

It's great to see you in the Fitbit Community, @Nightsgrow.

Thank you for your question about how your activities are tracked.

If you start an activity on your phone (MobileRun), the results won't show on your Fitbit Inspire HR but you'll be able to see them in your Fitbit account. It won't be necessary to start your exercise from your phone and your Inspire HR.

You can see the GPS route of your runs if you start your exercise from your Inspire HR. This device uses the GPS sensors on your phone to capture GPS data (connected GPS). For more information, please visit this article and open the menu "How do I start and stop a workout on my Fitbit device?".

Hope this helps.

thanks for you reply. I’ve tried starting a workout from my inspire hr and I don’t get the gps tracking for it. I’ve checked that gps tracking is turned on for both my phone and my watch. Do you have any suggestion to what could be the problem?

Thanks for your response, @Nightsgrow.

In this case, I would recommend following the troubleshooting steps in this article in the menu "How do I get my Fitbit device to connect to GPS?".

If you continue having the same issue, please provide the following information:

- Do you take your phone with you during your runs?

- What activity have you performed?

- Do you see your activity in your Fitbit account without a map?

- Did you get any error message? If possible, please attach a screenshot.

Have a nice day.
