Cannot find kayaking to add to my activity list

I am not over the number of sports activities but cannot find kayaking on the possible activities. Is it not on FitBit’s list? Even stand up paddling is not listed either.

Hello @Danat1 and welcome to the Community.  None of Fitbit's current trackers or smartwatches has a kayaking or SUP exercise shortcut.  I don't wear an Inspire 2, so I can't confirm the exercise shortcut list.  Fitbit created an Outdoor Workout shortcut, designed for activities like kayaking.  If it is available on the Inspire 2, then that is the appropriate shortcut.  But the Inspire 2 in considered to be an entry level tracker.  Fingers crossed for you.

Hi, @Danat1 , although kayaking is not one of the available shortcuts on your Inspire 2, it is an activity built into the Fitbit database of activities available to track.

In this case you must track your kayaking activity as a “workout” - that is an activity designed to be edited.  Once your activity has been synced to your app, you simply “categorize” it (iOS) or edit it (Android).

In both apps go to your “workout” log on your exercise screen, and on iOS click “categorize” and on Android click the pencil icon. In the search box that appears begin typing “k-a-y…” and because kayaking is a built in activity it will appear and be available to you to edit your activity.  Takes an extra few seconds.  (Note your activity will still be measured in “steps” as that is the basic Fitbit unit of measurement.)

Unfortunately, although tracking as “workout” allows editing, tracking as “outdoor workout” does not.  So if you want to have a GPS  map of your activity you will need to track it as an “outdoor workout” (which is available on the Inspire 2) and in that case you will also be able to use the GPS on your phone (via Fitbit’s connected GPS) to get a map of your journey and your distance calculated.

I hope this helps!

@Julia_G   My Inspire 2 has the current update to version 1.124.76.  I triple checked my shortcuts (anybody hear about alphabetical order, maybe) and it’s not on my list.  Any thoughts?

If you put your Fitbit on your ankle when you ride your spin bike, then you just don’t get it.

Hi, @NanaRuns , it is not on your shortcut list.  As I mentioned above, you need to track it as “workout” and then change it in the app to kayaking once it has synced.  Please read through my post above for fuller instructions.

@Julia_G   You wrote that it’s available in your fourth paragraph.  That’s why I triple checked before posting.
