My fitbit inspire hr wouldn't restart after I  press and hold the left button on the device for five seconds while its on charge. The smilie face just doesn't appear. Anyone else have this issue?

Hi @bwa35, are you sure that you're locking the device in place when you place it on the charger?

yes I'm sure it's on charge, because the screen shows the charging percentage when I press and hold the side button.

I am also having this issue. And the battery life is terrible even after changing the watch face.

Did you ever get yours to restart? I am having the same problem right now.  I’m noticing a lack of helpful information.

I'm having the same problem. This past update caused more problems than fixing them.

I couldn’t get mine to even update. I’ve been having troubles syncing too. I was hoping restarting it would help 😕

It finally worked after plugging it in, taking off the case around the screen, letting it charge all the way.  Now I’m debating if I should update it or not 😕

Hey, it must be because the pins wouldn't make contact correctly. I don't think a software update would trouble you regarding recharge.

How do I lock it in place?  It just attaches magnetically.

I had the same problem.  I couldn't get my Inspire to restart.  Here is what I did:

  1. Disconnect the charger
  2. Reconnect the charger
  3. While the display shows the battery charging, press and hold the button on the side
  4. When the display blanks, you know you've restarted the Fitbit.
  5. The Smiley face should show up in a second or two.

If you wait until the Fitbit Logo and "www.fitbit.com/setup" shows up, you've waited too long.  Disconnect the charger and start again.

This worked - thank you so much!!

I was finally able to do this, but I had to fully charge the Fitbit first, even though it had a 69% charge.

I had some luck with moving the charger from my computer to a plug-in USB instead.  It finally re-set after 3-4 tries.

the Fitbit Logo and "www.fitbit.com/setup" shows up immediately I press the button.  5 sec hold does nothing.  Diamond of dots stays on the whole time. with www.fitbit.com/setup scrolling underneath.

Same here. If I plug it in, nothing turns on and it actually gets very warm rather quickly. Holding it for 5 seconds does nothing.
