Hi!
The connected GPS feature only works for me when the Fitbit app is on foreground. When the screen is off or when I go to home screen (without closing the app) it gets disconnected. If I open the app, it gets connected back again.
The funny thing is that on one of my runs I didn't have that problem, and the connected GPS worked without even opening the app (Probably using the background process like it should) and when the screen was off.
But after that one time the issue came back.
I've got Samsung S7 and I don't have any other Bluetooth or GPS problems on my phone.
The problem happens with and without the "Always Connected" feature.
I've checked in the phone developer options to see that the app is running on background and checked that the app has permissions for Bluetooth & GPS.
Reinstalling the app didn't help.
Hope to get some help with this weird issue,
Thanks,
Liron

Hi @lir1903, nice to see you here. Welcome to the Fitbit Forums.
Thanks for sharing all those details in your post and for troubleshooting prior to contacting us. You've have done an excellent work searching for the correct steps to make it work again. I've received similar feedback about Connected GPS, we're currently investigating this issue. Rest assure that we're actively reviewing your responses and providing feedback to our product development team.
Since you're using a compatible device with Fitbit Inspire HR, I'd suggest to uninstalled the Fitbit app then reinstalled back. Please confirm the Notifications option in your Fitbit App is "On" and that you're currently receiving them on your Inspire HR. You can also restart your phone and sync your Fitbit before to test it again.
I'll be around.

Hi dan!
So i waited before i replied to yojana to make sure that it works, and it does.
I think the three main things do to before the run are:
1. sync the device.
2. turn on notifications (make sure it's also on at your device).
3. Always connected is turned on.
In my last four runs i didnt have any problem with the GPS.
Hope it wiil work for you as well,
Liron

Thanks Liron
I'll have a play, but i am pretty sure i tried everything you've done...
I kept strava open during my run, and that seems to keep GPS / Fitbit working..
@YojanaFitbit - is there an official response?

Hi,
In location permission of the app I selected "Allow all the time" and it solved the problem.
