Do the Inspire and Inspire HR count floors?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I've always read that the inspire does not count stairs. When I looked online today, "floors climbed" is now listed under features and specs for both inspire and inspire HR. I also took the quiz to be matched with a product, selecting floors climbed as my only desired feature, and fitbit matched me to the Inspire and Inspire HR. Has something changed? Do they now count floors?

I don’t think it is. I have an Inspire and it doesn’t count stairs. It might just be for the HR

You do realize that the "Features" tab on the "Features & Specs" Inspire page advertises that the trackers track "Floors Climbed".  That might be one reason why people are confused when the actual tracker doesn't have the feature.

Best Answer

No link to the page @Oversteer325 I noticed that there is no mention of Stair ion the inspire or inspire HR manual. I also know my Inspire does not count stairs and that the Fitbit One community is upset that the inspire does not count stairs

I see all over the website that the Inspire HR tracks Floors Climbed. I bought the Inspire HR just recently because I wanted to track Floors Climbed and I don't see that option. Soooo what the heck Fitbit?

I know, it's weird that the website pretty clearly indicates that both inspire and inspire HR track stairs. It would sure be great if that was a feature they added. I was hoping that fitbit heard all the complaints about missing that feature and were able to add it. Seems like that's not the case though.

@Rich_Laue Yes, there is mention of floor/stair tracking on the page for the Inspire and Inspire HR.  Scroll down and click "See all features and specs" and floors climb is listed under the exercise features

I just wanted to jump in and inform you all that the Inspire does not count any floors.

Our team is looking into the information again and this will be corrected as soon as possible.

I apologize but I'm still confused. I have the Inspire HR and no where within the app or online am I able to find any setting or data stating Floors Climbed. Am I missing something?

Thanks for the update.  I bought the Inspire because I wanted a smaller profile than the Charge that I had and from the information listed, it certainly appeared that it would count stairs.  I hope Fitbit does something to correct this.

I would also like to know this. I recall seeing that this was NOT a feature of the inspire HR when I was comparing.

This is what I got when I took the quiz to see which product I would like most, filtering for floors climbed: Screen Shot 2020-01-23 at 2.34.42 PM.png

In "features and specs" on the inspire page, they also indicate floors climbed:

This definitely wasn't the case with inspires or inspire HR in 2019. Unless they upgraded, but it sounds like that's not the case. As far as I've seen neither inspire model tracks stairs climbed. Was ready to buy one, thinking they'd upgraded the inspire family to add stairs, but I'll hold off as it sounds like fitbit is advertising nonexistent features.

This was one of the main exercises I bought the Inspire HR for and was not only told by the seller but also listed in the info on the device page that it did track stairs. started using it and lo and behold...nope. then someone (a rep here) in response to a topic here said that it does not track steps. Fitbit either blatantly lying or someone needs to update the info on the device.

I was told by a rep that the Inspire HR does not track steps? It is one of the big reasons I bought the Inspire HR because it is listed as having that ability. But looking at the device I see no options for this. Sure on the dashboard there is a "box" for it but mine does nothing when I climb stairs. Fitbit really needs to get their info correct on their devices.

Opps. Looks like I'm repeating myself here. This was a response to Juanfitbit who is wrong in that Inspire HR tracks steps. Unless I'm missing something he knows and I can't find.

@JuanFitbit Can you explain why some moderators will say that the Inspire HR does count stairs, and other moderators tell us that is does not? Sounds like a lot of people are being given incorrect information from moderators, sale people, and fitbit's own website.

Thanks so much for pointing that out! I was on vacation when I bought it and just very quickly read the specs, I bought it because of the altimeter!

Regarding the information about floors.

I have the Inspire HR and it isn't counting stairs. Would like it to because I run up and down stairs all day.

I have a new Inspire HR, and it is NOT counting floors!

Best Answer

Can't you just return it?  Seems simpler than writing for compensation.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.

@JuanFitbit I am terrible sorry. I meant floor steps. Counting the floor stepper. Not steps as The Inspire HR (and all others as you state) do count steps. LOL sorry about that.
