Does overcharging ruin the battery??

I was having the issue of my Inspire HR counting steps as i was driving (logging roughly 1000 steps in a half hour drive as i drive on bumpy dirt roads), i discovered if i charge my device while driving it doesn't count the steps. i want to ensure though that this wont have a lasting effect on the battery, e.g. in 6 months it will start draining quicker. If i do charge it every time i drive this means at minimum it will be charged for 1 hour each day.

Hi @cmegs Lithium Ion batteries are not tolerant of being run flat regularly, but dont seem to mind being left on charge. Many people charge their fitbits every day as it fits in with their lives that way. I doubt you will do the battery any harm charging for an hour a day. There is a lot of information on these type of batteries HERE so have a read and a browse around there.
