Exporting daily food intake totals

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I am trying to find a way to export these so that I can graph them on a spreadsheet and monitor intake over time. I can't see any way to do that, but it must be a common requirement. Anyone have an answer?

Thanks

Nick

Hi @Allington. It's good to see you back in the community.

Thanks for the inquiry to export daily food intake from your Fitbit profile.

I'd suggest you to visit article on How to export your Fitbit account data. I can see there is an option to export your food logs from your account. I hope this will be helpful to you.

Also, I'd invite you to vote for this post, that includes a similar idea in Product Feedback board. Our team of developers monitors this regularly.

That doesn't address the question, and furthermore the link provided for enhancement requests doesn't work.

Thanks for getting back in the community @Allington

I appreciate your feedback. You can export up to 31 days of your recent Fitbit data, or an archive of your Fitbit data for the lifetime of your account.

To export your recent Fitbit account data:

  1. From the fitbit.com dashboard, click the gear icon.

  2. Click Settings

     Data Export.
  3. Choose the time period and data you want to include, and the file format.
  4. Click Download.

OK, that gets the raw data, but talk about unfriendly formatting! All I wanted was the daily totals, laid out in a table exactly as it is displayed in the desktop app. The daily data is embedded all through the file, vertically rather than horizontally, making it a pain to extract it from there to something more usable for analyisis. Fitbit ought to be able to do better than that.
