A couple of days ago I started getting notifications to update the firmware on my device. I couldn't find any information on the new version on the website but lack of information from Fitbit is usual so this morning I took the plunge and updated. After the update the firmware version had not changed but the language of the Inspire had.
I've been using it for 3 months with the settings and profile as they are and have made no change to my profile (and haven't updated the app either) so why was I prompted to update and why was the language changed?

@SunsetRunner It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community! Sorry for the delay in my reply.
Let me help you with your Inspire HR firmware update and language settings. Not sure which firmware version your device was running but you can see information about newer firmware releases here. Regarding the language you can follow these instructions to change it on your device. If the issue persists you can restart your tracker.
Let me know how it goes.

@AlvaroFitbit Thanks for the reply.
As I mentioned in my post I'd already changed the language back after the 'update'. I had followed the instructions you linked to when I first bought the device and not changed them since so why the language changed is a mystery.
Before the update my Inspire HR was running 1.63.5. After being prompted and updating ... actually after updating twice since an update was necessary to change the language back again, it is still running 1.63.5. The linked list of updates has no dates so I don't know if the latest version was released after my original post or not. If I remember correctly the other two 1.63 dot releases after the one I am running and 1.84 were both withdrawn. The fact that there is no indication on the web page showing they were withdrawn is confusing. It also means there is no way of knowing whether 1.84.5 is really the latest version or if that has been withdrawn as well.
As usual there is no information on the fixes included in the firmware release so no way of judging whether it is worth taking the 30 minutes needed to upgrade. There is no point in upgrading if any bugs fixed were not affecting me in the first place.
My original questions stand:
1. Why was I prompted for an update if there was no firmware to upgrade to? (the fact that there was no change suggests that there wasn't a new version at the time although I am not being prompted now even though the version I'm using is 3 versions from the top of the list).
2. What did my language settings change during the upgrade even though I'd not changed anything in the language/location settings in the app since I'd manually set the language? The only thing I can thing of is that an app update reset those settings.
