My Fitbit inspire HR has a black screen and became very hot when I charged it. 
Looking for suggestions on what to do next?

If your Fitbit become very hot as you described definitely DO NOT continue charging it. I would suggest calling Fitbit Customer Service on issues such as this one: https://myhelp.fitbit.com/s/support?language=en_US
