FitBit Inspire HR registers walking as part walking and part elliptical. I don't have an elliptical

The subject of my post says it all.  I am wondering how I can get this information to change.  I am strictly a walker.  Sometimes I walk holding my dog on a leash, sometimes I am pushing my dog in a buggy, and sometimes I walk alone.  From what I have read the swinging of arms can replicate an elliptical, but when I'm holding my dog's leash or pushing the buggy, my arms are not swinging.  Help!!

2 options:

  1. Disable elliptical from auto-recognized activities.  On phone app, tap exercise tile, then gear icon near top right, then tap 'Elliptical'  and turn off 'Auto-recognize'.  Potential problem with that is what will happen to time that was considered elliptical.
  2. Better solution, in my opinion.  Use the Exercise App to tell it you are walking, and when you start and stop.  That way it is always recorded as you want it to be.  From clock face, scroll up to 'Exercise', tap that,  scroll up or down to your exercise choice.  For more information on this, and how to get Walking into the shortcut list if it is not there see How do I track my workouts with my Fitbit device?
Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
