Fitbit Calorie Tracker still seems way off

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Background knowledge: I am a 17 year old male, 6 feet tall, and approximately 250Ibs.

Ever since I got my fitbit I have questioned it's calorie tracker. I have had days where I allegedly burned 6500 calories, and that does not sound right to me. Recently when doing the math it has come up to anywhere between 3-6 steps per calorie burned. Is that accurate?

As for common issues I have looked into and confirmed are not the problem, here is a list.

-I make sure to account for my BMR when looking at calorie values

-My heart rate monitor is spot on(b when I turn it off the steps per calorie value seems more realistic)

-My weight, height, age, and gender are all entered correctly into the app

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

@Ryne1243 It's great to see that you've visited the Fitbit Community! Sorry for the delay in my reply.

Let me help you with your caloric burn calculation. It does seem odd that you get such a high reading. Could you share a screenshot of what your activities show? You have covered the basics about your personal information so it remains to see what the activities logged are contributing to this situation. I also created a ticket so our Support team can further review your account.

Let me know how it goes.

I assume by my activities/exercises you meant these (pictures attached). Looking at them it looks as if I burn approximately 10 calories a minutes while walking, and though I walk fast, I don't walk that fast. Anyhow, I have done walks recently but they were not auto registered (which I am ok with, in fact I might wanna make that default. I hope with this any issues become apparent. Thank you for the help
