I've read so, so many forum posts about this and all the responses seem to be "it sucks, but that's just how it is".
Whenever I manually track cycling or swimming, or auto-track cycling, my fitbit counts steps for the period of time. It counts 1000-1500 steps per 15 minute period, which results in a very high calorie count for the day and a very high step count that didn't actually happen. It's slightly understandable that it still tracks bumps and movements as steps during auto-track, but if I manually start recording an activity it should NOT count steps! Seriously, how hard is it to just turn off step tracking if an exercise like cycling or swimming is being recorded at the time?
If this can't be fixed, can we at least delete steps? That would almost be an acceptable workaround. I've seen people say to manually add the exercise in afterwards, but then I don't think it'd correctly track my speed and stuff, at that point what's even the point of having a tracker. Honestly if this issue isn't fixed I won't be buying another Fitbit. Garmin all the way.

@SophiaS12 If you have the inspire hr, then calorie count will be based on your heart rate, not your step count. So even if it logs some steps in spin class, it will only calculate calorie burn based on your heart rate. The number of steps may be a little misleading, but your calorie burn should be pretty accurate.
