Fitbit Inspire HR died and won’t restart. Smiley face keeps appearing then disappearing.

Bought my Fitbit Inspire HR August 2020. Last night after I got home from work, I noticed it was no longer responsive. After plugging it to the charger, upon syncing the iPhone app I saw the battery was now at 0% on my app which was weird because it was at 55% in the morning. Normally this would have lasted at least 2-3 more days. I left it to charge for 3 hours. After dinner I went to check on the Fitbit and it was showing the Fitbit logo with “100” written below it. I assumed this was telling me it was fully charged though I had never seen this display before? Usually a full charge would just display a full battery with a smiley face on it.

Next I tried to check if I could wake my device through the app. I tried setting an alarm clock - alarm managed to sync successfully but the alarm didn’t ring on my tracker. I saw there was a new update available so I tried clicking on it to update my Fitbit - it would load for about 70% and then report update failed. I have tried all the solutions recommended on this forum and my Fitbit just won’t respond to the soft or hard reset! I also tried switching the clock face, and on the app it would show the switching was successful but my Fitbit display still wouldn’t turn on. I also made the mistake of removing the device from my app in an attempt to reboot and re-sync the tracker, now I can’t even find my Fitbit on the iPhone app anymore… sometimes I get lucky and “searching for new device” would be able to detect my “new” Fitbit nearby. It would then ask for the 4-digit displayed on the Fitbit which I can’t provide because the display won’t turn on! The green light on the back of Fitbit is still working. The light would come on whenever I remove the tracker from the charger, but then it would go dead again after a short while. To make the green light appear again I would have to plug it into the charger and then remove it to trigger the green light.

Please if anyone can help propose a better solution. Otherwise I’ll have to switch to Garmin next. So done with Fitbit and these flaws. Barely even 2 years of using Fitbit!

Thanks in advance.

Same thing happened to my Inspire HR. I charged it overnight night, then in the afternoon it became 45%, and down to 17%. I connected it to the charger, it showed a smiley face, left it charged overnight, and this morning it went dead. I tried reset. No response at all. I cleaned the connectors and the chargers, and connected it to charger, but no response at all. It is frustrating. Any advice? Thanks in advance.
