Fitbit Inspire HR only recorded Sleep Cycles and not sleep stages

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I purchased a Fitbit Inspire HR on the weekend.  The first 2 nights recorded Sleep Stages and Sleep Cycles.  The second 2 nights have only recorded Sleep Cycles.

I see this has been an ongoing issue since 2017 on Fitbit products and am astounded that Fitbit do not appear to have addressed the problem, from what I can see on this forum, Google, Redit, Whirlpool, etc.  I am hoping for a non-automated response from Fitbit to rectify this issue and restore my faith in the Fitbit product.

I have checked the positioning of my Fitbit on my wrist.   I have re-booted by Fitbit and have re-booted my mobile phone and my laptop.

Can Fitbit please advise how to recover the lost Sleep Stages data of the first 2 nights and how to re-activate the Sleep Stages to enable it to record from this point forward.

Many thanks, Alice

oh and I have also tried 1 night with the sensitive button on and 1 with it off - which made did not make the Sleep Stages re-appear and I also tried setting when I went to sleep and when I woke up manually and still the Sleep Stages have not appeared.

Hello @alby368, welcome to the community forums! Thank you for the information and the troubleshooting steps you've followed!

I'm very sorry for the experience. There are a few scenarios that prevent sleep stages to be received. Please consider the following:

  1. If you slept in a position that prevented your device from getting a consistent heart-rate reading or wore it too loosely. For best results, wear your device higher on your wrist (about 2-3 finger widths above your wrist bone). The band should feel secure but not too tight.
  2. If you used the Begin Sleep Now option in the Fitbit app (instead of simply wearing your device to bed). For more information on automatic sleep tracking, see How do I track my sleep with my Fitbit device?
  3. If you slept for less than 3 hours.
  4. If your device’s battery is critically low.

For more information, you can see: What should I know about Fitbit sleep stages?

On a side note, there isn't any option that will allow to recover sleep stages. I also moved your post to another thread to keep our forums organized.

See you around.
