My Fitbit charge 4 showing huge spikes on step counts randomly. I have noticed it happens during my sleep and during charging. I didn't find any solutions when looking around Fitbit community.  Last month alone it was around 4 times a month. Could I get some help please.

@AjBa Welcome to the Fitbit Community. Thanks for the detailed information shared.

I appreciate the research done and the effort to try to upload a screenshot. May I know if you have MobileTrack added to your account? MobileTrack is a feature that records basic stats such as steps using your phone's sensors if you don't have a Fitbit device available. If there was a fan or anything buzzing nearby, or if your phone was vibrating, that might have caused you to get incorrect steps during that time.

If this the case, you may want to unpair MobileTrack from your account, by doing the following:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap your profile picture.
  2. Tap MobileTrack:
    For Android devices,
tap the trash icon at the upper right corner.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to remove it from your account.
  4. After this, continue syncing your Inspire HR to your account

Hope this helps.

Also, tried to upload screenshots of what I'm on about but I could not upload any images. A banner pop-ups saying "You do have permission to upload images"

Thank you - I have removed the MobileTrack. Hope I won't see it again!

I have manually removed these fictitious steps by manually logging as driving.

@AjBa Thank you for getting back.

I appreciate that you removed MobileTrack from your account. Glad to hear that driving was logged to override the steps or floors tracked previously.

Have a good weekend.
