Fitbit Inspire counted steps due to vibrations

So I woke up one morning to a group chat of coworkers noticing that I had gained over 150,000 extra steps basically overnight and I had no idea how it had happened.

I have had this issue before with the app when I had it connected to just my phone picking up steps, but never to this extreme of an amount. I tried resetting my app, my wristband, uninstalling and reinstalling, etc. Nothing worked. My coworker suggested I check to see when this had happened during the night, and I found the spike at 2AM.

And that's when I had a feeling I knew what happened. I sleep with my Fitbit on to monitor my sleeping patterns, and that night I had grabbed my cat and cuddled him. I believe I put my Fitbit arm against his side and his purring vibrated me up to over 150,000 steps that night. Which is absolutely hilarious. However I went in to manually override this error (putting it down as driving), which fixed my personal steps, but all my competitions with friends stayed at over 150,000 steps, and despite my trying everything previously mentioned AGAIN, I couldn't get the numbers down and just ended up leaving the competitions I was part of.

So long story short, does anyone know what I could do to fix this issue should it happen again in the future? (The inconsistency between personal steps and competitions- not the sleeping with my cat lol).

Thanks!

@DeliaWrae It's nice to have you on board!

Let me help you with your Inspire counting steps when you were cuddling with your cat and thank you for logging a driving activity to negate them on your account. Currently the option to edit challenges steps isn't available but you can share your idea in our Feature Suggestions board. Search for the idea first to see if one already exists so you can add your vote. The more votes an idea gets the more likely the developers will try to implement it.

Let me know how it goes.
