Fitbit Inspire won't scroll

purchased fitbit inspire 3 weeks ago ~ screen won't scroll.  Only displays time.  No trauma to the unit at all.  Although it's supposed to be swim-friendly, I haven't gotten in the pool with it on, and I don't shower wearing it.  The book that came with the fitbit has absolutely no troubleshooting info.  Info online is sparse.  Can anyone help?  Since the screen won't scroll, I can't shut it off to try to reset it...

The app on your phone will record everything, if you are wearing the fitbit and it is charged.You must make sure the fitbit is synced with the app. Otherwise, contact the company at fitbitcom and they will send new one, but keep your band and charger.they will only send the actual fitbit device.

Try putting it on the charger and hold your side button in until it scrolls

Hi I'm still having issues scrolling.I have tried all restart steps with no luck. It's only a few weeks old.

Hi my Fitbit Inspire HR has stopped scrolling and I really need it to work ASAP!

It is tempermental.. happened to two of mine ..new one and replacement..after few days, it started scrolling again.no rhyme nor reason!Sent via the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G, an AT&T 5G smartphone

These instructions worked perfectly. Great job moderator. My Fit Bit was unlocked immediately. My Fit Bit had been locked up for several days and I have no idea how it got that way. I used Google to find my answer. I then took the time to join the Community to thank the moderator.  Again Great job!  Wally

Just got my Inspire today. Followed the setup, but all I got was a solid line on the screen. I managed to reset it, but still won't scroll, and the only thing on the screen is the Fitbit logo and a scrolling dialogue across the bottom with a URL. I still can't scroll. I reset twice with the same results.

The scrolling issue was resolved by putting Fit Bit on the charger and holding the button down till you feel a buzz.  I got this information from a post by a moderator who was responding to another Fit Bit owner who was having the scrolling issue.  My understanding is that the tracker on the Fit Bit had locked up and this is what you do to unlock the tracker on a Fit Bit.

I've had my device since January, about a month ago it stopped scrolling. I've tried all the aforementioned troubleshooting, and then some....

1. Resetting by holding side button while on charger until got smiley face

2. Did same as above until I got a buzz (I never got a buzz, but I did get three smiley faces (not at the same time)

3. Waited for device to completely die, then recharge overnight up to 12 hours

4. Change clock face (which now the app tells me there is no internet connection ONLY when I try to change clock face but works any other time)

5. Uninstall and reinstall app

6. "Replace" device

There was even a software update - which got about 90% and then told me or couldn't complete the process the first several times I tried, then a week or so later it finally installed.

 

Absolutely nothing worked. I'm clearly not the only one having this issue. How do we flag a moderater? I seriously need this issue resolved.

Sorry that hooking the fit bit to the charger did not work. I would contact
customer support and turn on logging for your Fit Bit so that they can
review the device log when resolving the problem. I have the Fit Bit app
on my desktop. It loads with the Dashboard showing.
In the upper right screen corner you click on the square with the circle
and lines which brings up a menu on the left. Scroll down to the advanced
setting, select it and another menu comes up which includes App logging on
the bottom. Turn it on so that customer support will have the logs when
reviewing your issue. Then go back to the left menu and select help which
will show customer support. Select this and I suggest using the Fit Bit
support email to log your issue in depth and tell them you have turned on
device logging. I don't know how to flag down a moderator.

Mine is doing the same thing, I did the restart with the charger and it worked for the 1st text that came through to scroll and read it, then it stopped working again and the reset isn't helping.

After receiving a second Inspire that did the same thing, I just said it
wasn't worth the hassle and returned them both for a refund.

I think I'll stick with Alta; never had a problem with any I owned.

I have the same problem.  I see the smile icon but it still is not scrolling.

I contacted the Fitbit help and they essentially said there was nothing I
could do. As I was not at fault, and was still within warranty, they
replaced the device.

Shut it down for few days recharge....or request new one but they will only send unit itself ..no band..best to give it day or two..
