The BPM from a siting position is 50% higher than my manually taken BPM, which rarely varies more than 2 from my resting pulse rate of 50. Something is seriously wrong-how can I trust this for my BPM readings while exercising? Yes I have tried restarting it, re-syncing it and changing positions on my arm. Nothing worked.

Since I have not received any response to my original post, I thought I might give further details and ask if what i AM seeing are normal . First , the green LED is off when the watch is off my hand, but comes on (wakes up) with the slightest movement . When it comes on, the heart monitor shows a heartbeat of around 70, even though the fitbit is on the table and not touching my hand or any part of my body. I this behavior normal? How can the fitbit be showing a pulse?

Just spent 2 hours on the customer service line. Was told that the incorrect BPM info was the result of my not wearing it all day long, so it could it could get used to me. I purchased fitbit to follow my BPM during running, not to replace my other dress and business watch. Nowhere is the instructions does it even hint at this. Feel like I have been taken advantage of. Could this response from fitbit be true, or just a runaround? .
