Fitbit inspire estimated calories burned

I just recently purchased a Fitbit Inspire. My biggest issue it I want to know the actual calories I burn not the estimated. I can’t figure out how to change it or if you even can. Also I’m not sure the step counting is accurate. It says I walked 1500 more steps than my phone. That’s seems like too much of a difference to me. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sadly there is no mobile/wrist device that can actually measure calories burned. All devices rely on activity to estimate calorie expenditure. I used to have the Go-Wear-Fit device that was featured in the Biggest Loser and it had additional measurements such as temperature and sweat production (via electrical conductivity of the skin) - and this device still relied on step count to estimate calories with 'corrections' based on the other measurements. The only way I know of to actually measure calories burned it to stay in an adiabatic chamber where they can measure heat released by your body to know the actual calories burned.
