Hi. I have a new Fitbit inspire HR. I see all the other threads about it reading too high and I have the same issue. I wear both a Fitbit Inspire HR and an Apple Watch series 5.

The Fitbit and Apple Watch show similar amount of steps as long as I have Fitbit on my non-dominant hand but set the app to dominant.

my BMR is calculated the same on both as well.

what is NOT calculated the same is exercise or active minutes.

I’m 6’1, 185lbs. Not in amazing shape but I can keep up a jog for 30 minutes.

Fitbit told me I walked 34,000 steps and burned 5200(!!!) kcal yesterday??

Apple Watch shows 33,000 steps and ~4000kcal. I can probably burn 4-4300 on a good day, but 5200 is so far outside the realm of possibility to be nonsense.

no, I’m not turning off the heart rate sensor, Fitbit will fix this or it’s going back to the store.

Nonsensical fitbit stats:

Accurate apple watch stats.

Accepted Solutions

I have solved this issue by changing my weight to be 20lbs lighter than I actually am and setting a custom max heart rate to 210bpm instead of 220-35 = 185. I can't use weight goals nor log my weight in fitbit, but that's okay, I really just needed it for the sleep tracking anyway.

Does Apple Watch include BMR calories in daily total?

I tried to look that up and there seems to be some confusion about that.  Fitbit does include BMR calories.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
