Fitbit miles lower than GPS tracked miles

Today I did a charity walk that was 18 miles. I didn’t start the exercise tab immediately but the GPS tracked 17.8. The Fitbit on my wrist is only showing 15 miles walked. Is there a way I can get my Fitbit to match the mileage I know that I have walked. I have to say after having Fitbit for many years the Google version for accuracy is sadly not as good as it was under just the Fitbit brand ☹️
