Fitbit not responding to wrist movement

I've had my Fitbit Inspire for a couple of months and it has worked without any problems until last night. After charging it, the movement of my wrist won't activate the automatic 'on'.

I can manually make it light up by pushing the button. The functions; time, steps, heart rate, etc., all seem to be working fine. It appears to sync as usual. How do I re-activate the wrist 'auto on' feature?

Appreciate any help.

Hold in left side button a few seconds;  look for 'Screen Wake'; tap to toggle on or off.

Before posting, re-read to see if it would make sense to someone else not looking at your Fitbit or phone.
