Font size on Inspire HR

The Alta HR is easy to read with larger, vertical text. If the Inspire is replacing the Alta, the new tracker is unreadable to those of us who need glasses (but don't wear them all the time). Why no option to change the font? Can't use a tracker that's too hard to read.

@mikepw Hi and welcome!  At this time, there is no option on any Fitbit devices to be able to manipulate font size.  The screen itself is very tiny and it would be hard to increase the font much, in my opinion.

I like to swipe up and see all my stats in a larger format, that works for me!

I agree with mike to an extent. On the Inspire , my eyes take awhile to focus on the small print with the steps but eventually I see it.

I'm using the Valerie watch face and it seems to help some.

Thanks...The Alta HR reads lengthwise, so it's a bigger font and easier to read. If it was done on the ALTA, why not the Inspire, that's what I'm wondering...

@sailorbear510 I love the Valerie clock face as well, it's my favorite.  Love the big, bold time numbers and I find the other stats not too hard to see either.  🙂

I'm 53...eyes aren't what they used to be! Can't see the stats well without glasses. So the Alta setup was best for older people like me. The Alta is now discontinued, so there is no alternative for us...

why not make the step icon small and the step count bigger

Best Answer

Or even a vertical viewing option would make the step count font larger.

Best Answer

Yes, same as the Alta. If this is replacing it, why make it harder to read?

Best Answer

I agree with Mike.  Very hard to read, and the glare on the screen doesn't help

Swiping up just adds icons, but the font isn't any larger.   Why waste screen space with icons?

also... how do I get this "Valerie" clock face???

Best Answer

Valerie is temporarily removed I have read on another thread while tech support troubleshoots a battery drain issue with this clock face.

I agree with Mike.  Just got the Inspire HR for my wife for Mother’s Day and the font size is way too small.  GET RID OF the silly icons and give us a larger font or as in the Alta have the option of rotating the screen horizontal so the font will appear larger.  Talked to Fitbit and they said have to post on the community forum and they will “eventually” choose a fix.  I might just get tired of waiting and return this Inspire within the 45 day window and find an Alta HR to buy.

So excited to receive as gift to replace Alta but the screen on Alta was so much easier to read! Everything about the screen was easier to read. Also agree with those who ask to delete some apps from screen! And would like ability to go vertical.

Valerie face is back. Restart to get the upgrade. Font size should be bigger. Will probably return and go back to my Alta HR

I agree that the font is too small. There is a lot of focus and screen size wasted on the time or clock.. it is the fitness tracker, but you can’t see the fitness info... way to small... the other clock faces of cat and stuff don’t seem to make sense... seem silly.., if this is replacing Alta this is a step backwards in terms of seeing the valuable info... pls  fix this,

I don't see any difference in the Valerie font size.  This is ridiculous, such a disappointment.  Alta is the best!

Best Answer

I tried Valerie for day, and really did not see difference... also it seemed not to display time when you flipped your wrist .. had to touch watch each time... Fitbit developers, please make a new clock face that has the info larger!

Just got my Inspire and although I'm happy that I have a discreet "wearable" device with the clip, and I can swim laps, it is very difficult to read.  I don't need or do I want a big, ugly, bulky, computer on my wrist. Unfortunately, I forgot to take my "One" off and it wasn't waterproof! The One had a nice big font, didn't have all the goofy icons, and worked like a charm.  PLEASE FITBIT, FIGURE IT OUT!

Thanks for mentioning the 45-day return option. I'm going to return this and have just ordered a new band for my Alta which I will gratefully use again.  I think they will only take notice when they start getting numerous returns.  It's too bad because the Inspire is a much more comfortable fit.
