Frustrating: Will VO2 Max actually get accurate?

I have very low cardio respiratory fitness, owing mainly to severe childhood asthma that continued until 18/19 years of age.

Now at 39 year-old, I continue to have weak cardio. I did a home tests (box step up), and then a walking VO2 Max test. Both tests reflected what I knew to be accurate, giving me the very poor 21 and 22 scores.

I'm pretty sure that more accurate tests in laboratory conditions will confirm this, if not giving me even lower scores.

When I got my Fitbit, it calculated my vo2 max at 41 to 40. According to Fitbit, the accuracy will improve with more data input, with at least 10, 10-min runs.

After 7 month of 24/7 use of the tracker, I started the runs recently and currently at 8 runs. But my VO2 Max has gone up since and currently at 43 to 47.

This makes me wonder if it is even worth finishing the runs. This is extremely frustrating, especially given that it should have had simpler ways in the first place of estimating a score with all the data the tracker collects.
