My Inspire HR was working properly until the latest firmware update. Ever since, my HR will not connect via Bluetooth nor USB. I started by attempting the way I did it: through my phone. The phone app notifies that no device is found. As a workaround, I installed the app on my Windows Surface and it also says it cannot connect to the tracker; that I should restart it (I have done so multiple times) or check that it's not connected to any other device (it isn't).
Also, since the last update, the tracker's green lights will flash, so it seems to try to read my heart rate, but no matter how much I adjust the tightness/looseness against my skin, my heart rate cannot be detected. Restarting did not fix the issue, either. It displays "--" instead of a heart rate.

Hi, @j_a_c , when the HR shows “_” on the app, that usually means that the Fitbit is no longer paired with your phone/ device.
Is it reading your heart rate on the Fitbit itself, or just not in the app?
If your HR is showing on your wrist, but not in the apo, I would first temporarily turn off Blue ooth on your Surface, or send the computer to sleep. Then on your phone, on the Fitbit app, choose your tracker icon and go to “notifications”. If you have an Android, click on the 3 dots top right and choose “Send a test call notification”. That should force a “pairing”. If not, try disabling notifications and then re-enabling notifications. On iOS turning on notifications should prompt a pairing request. Pairing must always be done via the Fitbit app and not directly using the phone’s Bluetooth, although toggling Bluetooth off on the phone and then on again and then trying again with the app can sometimes help.
if your HR is not showing on the Fitbit or your app, try going to the Inspire HR, swipe down until you come to “settings” and turn heartrate off, wait a moment, and then turn it back on again.
I hope this helps. Let us know how it goes. Welcome to the forums!

I tried what you said and the HR function was automatically switched to "off" after the firmware update, indeed.
I went through the suspend/turn bluetooth off procedure and it didn't work; I uninstalled, rebooted and re-installed the app on my surface and that did seem to do the trick (perhaps your advice worked but my surface required rebooting?) It's back to being fickle about syncing, but it's always been that way for me.
Thanks!
