HR to Strava

Been using my Fitbit now for a while and tried to search the forum for instructions on how to get HR-data into Strava after the ride. I have tried to sync my fitbit before I close the ride in Strava but that doesnt help. I still dont get HR-data in the Strava activity.

Has anyone suceeded with this. I do get a recording in my fitbit app that I have been riding and I have my Strava activity but I also would like the Inspire HR to act as a heart rate monitor. I doesnt have to be live but at least be synced to my Strava activity after the ride.

So lets see if I get this -

I should not start Strava when I start my ride but manually start a recording on my Fitbit? How do I manually start a recording on the Fitbit Inspire HR? In the manual it says "On your tracker, open the Exercise app." but I cannot find that on my Inspire HR so whats wrong? Is it only available when you are connected to your phone and its GPS?

Edit - Found how to start the activity manually

The thing is I actually use "Live feed" in Strava and if I dont start Strava I wont get that to work so it is either or I feel.

I would actually like to be able to do the opposite, and transfer data from Strava to Fitbit. I use Strava for biking and it registers all sections of my ride. If I use Fitbit, if I stop for a few minutes for a drink or to rest, it doesn’t always register my time biking. Supposedly, it will register activity after ten minutes, but I have not always found this to be the case. Any ideas?

We are not talking about smart / auto-tracking here.
Smart / auto -tracking is NOT using the GPS of your phone which means NO MAP, which means that the activity will NOT sync to Strava. Also, smart/auto-tracking needs to "sense" a continuous activity of the time you have set within the settings of your account.

You have to start tracking your Biking on your band. Just enable the shortcut to be shown there.

If you ever stop for a few minutes (to have a drink, etc), you will press pause (on the band), and you will press "play" to continue, when you ...finish that drink and continue with your ride.
And when you finish / complete you bike ride, you will press the side button and follow the instructions to END the tracking on your band.

Biking IS a GPS activity, so if (and only if) you start logging it via the band, it will connect to your phone's GPS and everything will be uploaded to Strava when you stop tracking it.

Please read the posts I'm refering to on the link above.... Everything is detailed there.

Yes, I can manually start-stop, start-stop, start-stop my biking activity on the Fitbit.  Unfortunately, I don’t always remember to do it each time, and when doing it that way I can’t use the Fitbit as a watch. Since my main goal is to have all my fitness activity recorded in one place, I guess I’m better off just using Strava and then manually logging the data in my Fitbit app.

Thanks for trying to help. 😁
