Had problems with my Fitbit Inspire screen and rebooted and it may have fixed the problem

Long story short, got my time wasted in chat and on the phone to be emailed my inspire warranty had expired. My screen was glitching between time/stats and losing battery life all of a sudden and was trying to figure out how to fix. It wouldn't charge when plugged in. It would say it was but it stayed on 6% and then the screen would start glitching again. Out of frustration I bought another one thinking it was toast. So I rebooted the thing which wasn't told I could do. Not the plug it in and hold the sides and wait for the smiley face. I went into settings, hit the reboot boot device thing. It rebooted and the battery was up to 91%. But the battery wouldn't go up from there. It just stayed on 91 like it was staying on 6% before I did the first reboot. I rebooted 2 more times and now my device is working again. I hope this becomes a suggestion/solution. I wasted my time getting the run around and ending up buying something that I may need to return because I received inadequate customer service and there isn't anything that even remotely suggested a actual reboot through the settings. I hope this helps someone and Fitbit does better by it's customers and gives this as a fix.

Hi @LTCH1980  glad you got it working for you. Restarting is usually the first step in taking care of glitches. Some people are afraid to try it, as they fear losing their data, but it's the same as restarting your phone or computer. When I charge my Fitbit, no matter which one I have or if there are any glitches, I do a restart or two, just as part of my routine. Might be good if more people restarted their devices on a regular basis. Thanks for sharing.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community, @LTCH1980. I´m sorry to hear about your experience with your Fitbit Inspire.

As @Odyssey13 mentioned, restart is the first recommended step in taking care of glitches. I don´t know exactly why it wasn´t recommended to you. I really appreciate your feedback and comments. Please know that we provide feedback to our team based on community posts and we are always working on improving our devices and overall environment based on what you share here.

Thank you for the heads up @Odyssey13.

Have a nice day.
