I just started using a Fitbit Inspire HR last week, mainly to track my heart rate during workouts.

The first few days were great, and I could click on my individual workouts and get a breakdown of time spent in each cardio zone and the associated timeline.

Yesterday however, my workout did not log under my main exercise section, so I can't click on it to see my cardio zone breakdown.

However, when I click on "calorie burn" for that day, I see several spikes on the graph during the time I was working out, and my overall calorie burn reflects the intensity of my workout. So I know it was logged by my device and the app, but it's not coming up as a discrete bout of exercise.

Sadly I see several other users in this forum have experienced these issues and have not received any meaningful advice. I'm hoping that because mine did work only two days ago that I'll be the exception.

Thank you for your help. "

Welcome to the Community Forums @MaryMalaise! Thank you for sharing those details and links. I'll do my best to help you out with your inquiry.

As you mentioned that your Fitbit was tracking heart rate information successfully recently, please try to restart it with these instructions:

  1. Plug the charging cable into the USB port on your computer or any UL-certified USB wall charger.
  2. Hold the other end of the charging cable near the port on the back of the tracker until it attaches magnetically. The pins on the charging cable must connect securely with the port.
  3. Press and hold the button on your tracker for 5 seconds.
  4. Release the button. When you see a smile icon and the tracker vibrates, the tracker restarted.

As with all heart-rate tracking technology, accuracy is affected by personal physiology, device location on your arm, and type of movement. Confirm the next information:

  • Wear your Fitbit device on top of your wrist, and make sure the back of the device is in contact with your skin.
  • When you’re not exercising, wear your device a finger’s width above your wrist bone.

  • During a workout, experiment with wearing the device higher on your wrist (2 finger widths) for an improved fit. Many exercises such as bike riding or weight lifting cause you to bend your wrist frequently, which could interfere with the heart-rate signal if the watch is lower on your wrist.

  • Consider tightening your wristband before a workout and loosening it when you’re done. The wristband should be snug but not constricting (a tight wristband restricts blood flow, potentially affecting the heart-rate signal).

If you’re doing an exercise such as high-intensity interval training, boxing, or other activities that cause your arm to move vigorously, try to relax your wrist and stay still for up to 10 seconds until your heart rate appears.

I wasn't able to see the pictures on the links, next time it might help to confirm the steps to add a images to the Community Forums. If you encounter any issue uploading images, please let me know if you get an specific error message.

I have rebooted multiple times per the direction.  It tracked heart rate when I first started using it.  I have tried the positioning strategy with no success.  I had no problems with my Alta HR.  I thought this would be an upgrade after 3 years with my Alta HR.
