How do I initiate sleep tracking on Inspire 2?

It's the start of my second day using my Fitbit.

It's not showing any sleep data after the first night. I slept very late and not too much, but I'm sure that's immaterial, as long as it's over a few hours, I think ( I slept about 5 hours).

A Fitbit FAQ section said you do not need to initiate sleep tracking, it is automatic. I was a little confused by what the "sleep mode" does if that's the case. Anyways, so I slept. But no data recorded (I synced numerous times). Why is this?

You are correct that you don't do anything to initiate sleep tracking.  'Sleep Mode' has nothing to do with sleep detection, but adjusts some settings to help prevent you getting disturbed while asleep, such as turning off notices.

If you just woke up, sometimes it takes a while for sleep to register.  Otherwise, all I can suggest is just wait and check later in the day and see what happens tomorrow.  It sounds like you did it right.

Hi, thanks very much. You are totally correct it appears. The data started showing up at the end of the second day of wearing the band. And the next night's sleep (night 2) data got updated almost immediately after waking up, indicating that the software is adapting and learning, exactly as you would hope.

Lucky you. I've had my Inspire 2 for over a week and cannot get it to register my sleep AT ALL.

Still no luck after several days. Other functions seem to be working. Step counter was a little crazy the first few days but seems more accurate now. Still waiting to get my sleep scores, though.

Strange! I haven't had a single problem in sleep detection. Well, it misses 30min nap here and there sometimes, but that's probably expected. But other than that it's been close to perfect for me. Are you wearing it every night? I think it's important to train it as much as possible. Anyway,  this must be really frustrating for you.

Fitbit won't auto-detect naps of less than an hour.  That is where "Begin sleep now" can be useful.  That prevents sleep stages, but you won't get sleep stages with less than 3 hours anyway, but it will add the nap to hours slept.

I had my old Fitbit Alta for several years, and the sleep feature worked very well, so I'm familiar with the nap aspect and all of that. This one just doesn't do anything for sleep. I've tried to find a place to "activiate" it, in case something has to be turned on, and I've worn it to bed every night, but between my new I-phone and my new Inspire, I haven't found anything to get it to work. Other features and history carried over from old phone to new phone and step counter took a few days to get accurate, but sleep does nothing. I didn't have to do anything with the Alta and, since I have sleep issues, I checked it every day. I miss my old Alta.

Mine isn't tracking my sleep either.  I've only had this new inspire 2 for about 2 months.  It was tracking for the 1st month or so and then stopped.  My old fitbit alta also worked very well, but not this one.  Any suggestions on how I can get it to track my sleep again?
